In this article, author uses the literature of history to tell us about the difference between Ellipsis and subpuncting.
Ellipsis: A series of dots without words and to be simple asks the reader to make his/her own assumptions.
Subpuncting: Similar to strike off but, here the word is present and a series of dots are added under the word asking the reader to omit the word and continue reading.
My opinion: A simple article to explain us the history of ellipsis if any.
